Girl who conquers the seas

In India, Cricket is the only sport which has huge fan following and will be in headlines. Rest of the sports are never taken in to account.  One such underachievement was the youngest to swim in the Antarctic waters. It belongs to Bhakthi Sharma, a girl who conquers the oceans. She started swimming at the age of two and half where kids can barely walk. She was born in Mumbai and brought up in Udaipur. Her mother is a national-level swimmer. She trains Bhakthi from a very young age.

Girl who was born again on the mountain

First of all, I want to thank willofsteel site for showcasing a lot of unsung heroes. Most of their stories were heart touching while I am hearing about it for the first time. I always wonder why India doesn't produce Benthany Hamilton or Corporal Todd Love. Finally, when I read about Arunima Sinha's Mount Everest climb; I stand and salute her. I would like to share her story, which will inspire anyone reading this post.

I see Humans but no Humanity

It was a hot day in Chennai. I got stuck in a heavy polluted traffic, it was a long queue. I was already late for a meeting. Mr.Aditya was a leading industrialist, he is waiting for me to discuss his future insurance plans. I got a call from Mukesh sir, my boss. He urges me to attend the client immediately. I lie him that I will be there in a few mins. My job is never an easy one. I used to travel at least 100 km a day. It will drain you both mentally and physically. I am waiting in the first row, timer was now in 55 seconds. It should be clear soon.

A Gift to remember

My Mom is visiting me for the first time since I moved to the new city. She was a school teacher, it's her nature that she asks so many questions. She usually scolds me for pretty much everything I do, but always loves me. I kind of miss her these days. To my surprise, she arrived earlier than the expected time. I welcome her in the door. She hugs me and immediately notice the smell. She asked, "whether you have taken a bath ?" I replied "Yes, mom but it was yesterday." She angrily responded "First go and take bath Sanju."

Blogger Dream Team - Cricket World Cup

I am accessing world cup based upon the  performanceCricket is a sport loved by billions in our nation.  I follow cricket from 2003 world cup, where Indians lost to the mighty Aussies. I was heart-broken when Sachin was out in the first over of the massive target(359/2). In that era, 350 plus chase was not possible. Today, the game has changed drastically with the invention of T20 games, new rules, power-plays, heavy bats, etc. Nowadays, teams are even ready to chase 400 plus targets. Let's analyse batting, bowling and fielding individually in detail.

Bluestone #SoundOfLove

Today is my 34th birthday, as I am getting one year older. I look myself in-front of the mirror and wonder what all went wrong over a few years. I have a few white hairs and my body isn't fit as it was before. There are a few wrinkles in my face as well.

Social Media on Mobile Vs Web

It is a fictional conversation between mobile and web, fighting about their dominance in today's technology. The chart implicit the count of users who uses mobile and web from 2007 to 2015.

Mobile : Hey web, have you checked the recent statistics? I will dominate you by a large margin in the upcoming days. The future definitely belongs to me.

Web : Ok mobile. so, you thought you were better than me.

My #SoundOfLove Story

There are always two phases in every single love story. First one is falling in love; It is an easy one. Everyone falls for someone, but to pick the right one was very important in this phase. Second one is proposing, most love stories end here. It is a very hard thing. Some even not reveal their love, but this phase decides the climax of the story. I am going to write here about this phase only. This story belongs to my friends Mr. and Mrs. Chandru and I am writing it on behalf of them.

What would you do if you got a #SecondChance?

Everyone in their lives has certain small wishes, which they plan to do in the future. I too have a few dreams which I have been putting off for sometime now. Mostly, the postponement was due to various reasons like financial problems, no time, stability, etc.

Things that define me

I am going to write about my friend Deepika Muthusamy. She is a blogger, author, trekker, marathon runner and software engineer . I interview her about each of these things and get an interesting reply. These are the following questions I have asked her.

When do u start blogging? What for?
My sister's son Sanju is my inspiration for my first post. I can't forget that day when he was born, I just started in IBM. I didn't get leave at that time; I had high hopes of meeting him. I meet him only at the weekend. It was one of my wonderful experiences; I want to share it with everyone. It started like these and soon I got more visitors who give me more confidence to write.

Journey from ‘OR’ to ‘AND’

Everyone in their lives goes through this phase where they are not sure about which option to choose, which leads them a success. All it matters was making righteous choice at this crossroads of life. Sometimes the decision might ever change our life either good or bad. One such decision was taken by my friend pooja. Usually when a boy chooses his passion over commitments, it's called risk, brilliance; however, when a girl does that, family neighbors tag her as stubborn, headstrong.

Two Little Birds

My school look similar to Hogwarts with tall dark ceilings located in the middle of green dense forest. It has a huge round white wall clock in one of the ceilings. It's black pointers meet each other and it was 12 pm, familiar bell sound flies along with the windy air and it wake our ears which brought relief smile to our lips. It was the end of third period, it has one more class before our lunch break. A dark obese figure holding a book entered our class. My friend in the previous desk whispered "Dino" with a worried look. It was our Maths teacher Agnus, she was probably in her late fiftes, her face was mostly covered by big ugly specs. She have a nick name "Dino" because her appearance was little similar to dinosaur. I am Arun, studying 7th grade in this class. For me, maths is always a problem; I never got more than 50 in any exam. So, she hates me; I hate her more than that.

Aranmanai Movie Review

Aranmanai is a comedy horror film but neither the comedy, nor horror is substantially good. Sundar.C gives a slight disappointing movie when compares to his previous two films (Kalakalupu and Theeya Velai Seyanum Kumaru) Three girls in the movie have done a good job especially Hansika. It might be her best performance in terms of acting. Vinay has nothing to speak of. Santhanam's one-liners, Kovai Sarala and Manobala managed to tickle our funny bones.

Heaven is for real - Book review

It was my first book in 2014 and tenth book on all count. I fortunately bumped into "Heaven is for real" trailer on Youtube. I surfed for the movie. Many reviews told to read the book rather than watching the film. It was also my first foreign author book, got a little problem in certain words but thanks to the dictionary. it is also an easy read, completed the book in 3 hours.

Todd Burpo is a small town pastor living in Nebraska along with his wife Sonja and two children. Cassey is 6 years old and Colton is approaching 4. Colton had a bad burst appendix 6 months back; he was very weak and almost dead during the surgery. It was a very tough period of Burpo's family. They struggled emotionally and financially and their only hope is God.

If Its Not Forever. Its Not Love Book Review

I have completed reading my third and final book "If Its Not Forever. Its Not Love" of 2013. I surfed a lot of books, finally buy it in flipkart. It took me a month to complete the first half of the book, where the later half was finished in 3 hours. I haven't tried Durjoy Dutta's book before, this was my first one. He conveys the emotions perfectly through out the book with simple style of writing. At times, he repeats the words or the feel which will be a slight frustration to readers. I think of giving 3 starts to it, but towards the end; it turns very interesting. so, I will give 4/5 for this book.

I’d do things differently

Dear Charlie,
I love you son more than anything. I know it from the first time when I hold you in my arms. Over the years, your mom passed away. I got drunk, I sent you to farm house instead of school. I wish I'd do things differently to you. I got sick now; doctors told that it will cost a lot for the operation. You want to do it but your wife thinks otherwise. I don’t want to be a burden to you. By the time, you are reading this I would have been far away.

Conditions apply

I love you; you love me. My family loves you; your family loves me. Yet, marriage needs some conditions apply. A dowry, unfortunately my father is poor neither you can’t leave your family. I don’t know whom to blame whether your father or the society.

Irandam ulagam review

The most awaited film of the year 2013 hits big screen on last Friday. Selavaraghavan took 2 years for this film. He also withdraws Kamal's 'Vishvaroopam' for this project. Irandam Ulagam is a bit disappointed movie which has a confusing script and dull screenplay. Arya and Anushka done a decent job but the film is only for limited audience. "How far you will travel for love" was the tagline of it. It has the glimpses of Hollywood films Avatar, Narnia, Fountain, Cloud Atlas etc.
