Gardener's Treasure

I tried a fiction; it was in reverse order hope it will give a different feel to the readers.

It was based on Write Tribe Wednesday picture Prompt

Now
I can’t believe my eyes. It was full of gold coins; it will take even a day to count it. I feel like I was living a dream. The coin has some king’s face on one end and some valley on the other. It may be centuries old. I hear stories about treasure chest but never thought it would happen in real life. In today’s case, it happens to me. A wet droplet dwells into the coin from my eyes; I was so happy yet my eyes drenched with tears. It was a beautiful feeling. Minutes later, a few more drops join the show; this time it was a rain. I stretch my hands and welcome the nature falls. I look up and shout in high tone. “Thanks God”

We shift to this new house last week. I look around the perfect place in my home back yard for tree sapling. It is a hot day; sun rays finding way beneath the branches of tall trees falls on the green curbs. I notice a paper floating through the air; it falls on the empty space. I took the paper; it states “Here is the place buddyJ”.   I realize it would be the perfect place for the tree. It is far from other trees and the soil here will be ideal for trees. I am a gardener; I have planted more trees in my profession. I took my shovel; dig a hole twice the height of stem. Suddenly, my shovel hits something; it happens to me many times in the forest. I have found a lot of polythene bags, dead animals even some skulls. Today it is clear that it is none of the above. I dig further; it seems like a wooden box or something. It is a wooden chest box with a lock. Now, I became suspicious and make sure that no one was there. I carry it from the ground and rub the dust.  I took my hammer and slam the lock in it. “Bang” it opens, I have no idea of what is inside.

My wife and I have often arguments. Today, it is because of the plant curb I have bought instead of lending her the balance money. She asks me to buy some house hold things; I went to grocery store and bought the things she asks to. On my way, I look at a sycamore plant curb at the plant store. From the look of it, I know it will die soon. I told the shopkeeper to plant it. He yelled at me “Why do you care?” I care about herbs, which was the only one thing I know. Hence, I buy the plant with the remaining money. My wife doesn’t like me spending more money on plants. She takes me a lecture about the pending debts. I kind of have the feeling; we need to look after the trees just like other humans.

Feedback will make anyone learn and grow better. Kindly share your thoughts.

  5. I think it is cool how you described the events in reverse order. Different but cool. It shows how different life was only 5 minutes before and 30 minutes and how life can change instantly. ♥
